WOW!
What a day!
What an effort!
As I drove into our school last Sunday, I must admit that although I was feeling excited, I was also a bit exhausted. That all changed the minute I approached Main Road and saw a sea of red and blue balloons, bunting and our famous RPS sign (that even has its own Facebook page!) Immediately, I felt my lips move into a huge smile, and my heart turned outwards. I actually let out a giant “WOW”! I parked my car and jumped out to hear a buzz of laughter and chatter, music playing and the most incredible feeling of togetherness – Community. It was at this point, that I had to pull myself together! I could feel the tears of pride and happiness coming!! *how embarrassing* I was overwhelmed at how much effort had been put into the day already, and it was only the beginning. For the entire day I couldn’t take more than 5 steps before chatting with the next person. Old faces, current faces, and new faces. So many stories and so many compliments on our amazing community.
I would like to extend the BIGGEST thank you to each and every one of you who played a role in making our fete the incredible day that it was. What an effort! What a team! When Jess said that she was bringing the fete back and there wasn’t a thing I could do about it, I was hesitant…. !!! Boy did she rally an army, and boy, did you all do a phenomenal job. Thank you so much for everything that you did to give our RPS Community a day that will go down in history. I’m all warm and fuzzy inside and no words will reflect my appreciation.
We have raised a truckload of money for our beautiful school. Just in case you missed it, we made a profit of, $20,408.88. I look forward to discussing the spending with School Council, the PFC, and the wider community. THANK YOU.
